What is the objective of the role?
The primary objective of the role is to support the core investment team in various forensic research assignments and assist in key areas of Governance/compliance related to Investment function.
Principal responsibilities are:
1. Assist analyst in forensic research and fundamental analysis of investee companies to assess governance/ accounting quality.
2. Conduct financial statement analysis including studying annual reports, financial models, analyzing various accounting, financial, growth, valuation and other historical metrics relevant to conduct forensic due diligence.
3. Assist in periodic technology projects/ assignments related to Equity research / investments team.
4. Play a key role in handling specific assignments related to SEBI norms like Stewardship activities, proxy voting advisory and Governance (ESG) aspects relevant to the organization on an ongoing basis.
Knowledge required for the role:
1. Must possess a strong understanding of financial statements, accounting, auditing,corporate governance and other areas related to financial reporting of listed and unlisted companies.
2. Basic understanding of tax, compliance, regulatory norms and any other related areas for analyzing listed companies will be desirable.
3. Must have strong MS excel knowledge and other basic software’s/ web-based services. Knowledge of other databases (C Line, Ace, etc.) will be desirable but not mandatory.
4. Knowledge of Ministry of Company Affairs, Registrar of Companies portal with basic understanding of extracting relevant information will be added advantage (in absence of which ability to learn and adapt quickly will be essential).
5. Independent thinker with strong analytical skills, desire to learn and work hard. Be able to manage and work in diverse team(s) across functions wherever needed .
6. Ability to comprehend and work on regulatory processes and requirements with strict adherence to timelines as far as compliance is concerned pertaining to Equity research team. (Appropriate training will be provided on these aspects)
Educational Qualifications:
Chartered Accountant (CA) with strong accounting/auditing/forensic domain knowledge.
Years of Experience:
0 to 1 Year of exprience
