This role is to lead the projects vertical within fund administration function, this vertical is responsible to drive strategic initiatives like system development & implementation, setting up operations for new business lines and operational process control & risk management. 


Objectives of the role:

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Leading a lean team responsible for system development & implementation on functional front involving system impact analysis, documentation & UAT.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in investment operations and fund accounting domain. Leverage domain expertise to implement system solutions and setup business operations.
  • Lead process automation initiatives in coordination with tech team using Business Intelligence and RPA tools. Independently identifying potential automation areas and leverage right tools to automate. 
  • Project management responsibility including project planning, execution and governance. Effective stakeholder management to ensure timely completion of project.
  • Operational risk management adhering to the regulatory requirements. Identifying risk areas, review of process controls and periodic risk reporting.
  • Business process re-engineering to make operations lean and automated yet maintaining adequate control checks
  • Collaborate with technology team to design and implement solutions meeting business requirements.
  • Effective project management and stakeholder communication.
  • Adherence to risk management framework.
  • Ensuring proper documentation of systems and processes. Thorough validation of systems before implementation.

Competencies needed:

  • Strong domain knowledge of capital markets with focus on investment operations, regulatory compliances, and fund accounting. Understanding of financial market instruments – Equities, Derivatives, Debt, Mutual Funds etc.
  • Leadership skills to drive success out of a lean team. Effective communication skills to lead conversations with senior stakeholders and vendors.
  • Experience of writing functional specifications and testing systems in investment management domain.
  • Prior experience of leading system integration projects.
  • Solution oriented approach with ability to analyse and find systemic solutions for operational issues.
  • Effective communication skills to deal with system vendors and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in excel, with ability to deal with reconciliation of large data sets.
