Position: HEAD- BRAND MARKETING


Experience Level: 15+ years in brand management, social media, or investor education, preferably in mutual funds and/or financial services.

 
This role provides an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader passionate about building brands, engaging audiences on social media, and making a meaningful impact to countless live by educating investors to make better decisions. 

DSP’s Head of Brand (B2C role including Social Media & Investor Education) will lead the strategic development, management, and growth of DSP’s brand presence, social media channels, and investor education programs. This senior role requires a dynamic professional who can drive brand recognition, build meaningful engagement with audiences, and empower investors through accessible, relevant educational content while building upon large scale creative programs that can inspire and bring awareness about MFs, investment behaviours & principles. The ideal candidate would be a seasoned marketing leader with a good understanding of the financial services industry and a flair for storytelling, balanced by a data-driven approach to campaign performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Brand Strategy and Management

  • Build upon a smart but comprehensive brand strategy that positions DSP as a trusted, credible and innovative asset manager.
  • Oversee brand messaging, visual identity, and positioning across all channels to ensure consistency and alignment with the company’s vision and values.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform brand strategy and identify opportunities for differentiation.
  • Collaborate actively with product, investment and sales teams to create narratives around product offerings that align with the brand’s core messages.
  • Oversee brand consistency/ liaison as needed with other DSP concerns including DSP Pension Fund (NPS), DSP Finance, DSP’s International Business function.


2. Social Media Strategy and Execution

  • Lead the development and execution of DSP’s social media strategy across LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube in addition to exploring/ developing other interactive channels.
  • Drive social and business growth via creative thinking, engagement and content reach by creating compelling, shareable content tailored to each platform.
  • Establish a content calendar and oversee the creation of high-quality posts, videos, infographics, and live sessions to promote behavioural insights, investment principles, product insights, market insights, conceptual & educational posts and brand values.
  • Stay updated on social media trends and best practices, utilizing analytics to refine and optimize content and campaigns based on performance metrics.
  • Engage with followers and learn from them to create channels that matter to DSP’s followers.


3. Investor Education Programs

  • Lead and build upon DSP’s investor education strategy, focusing on
    • Crafting powerful creatives that move and provoke people
    • Creating accessible, informative content that enhances financial literacy and investor confidence
    • Promote the above to the relevant target audiences
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, including fund managers and financial advisors, to create credible and insightful educational resources.
  • Work with distribution and sales teams to align investor education initiatives with customer needs and utilize distribution partners to deliver investor education programs intelligently and credibly
  • Lead our on-ground financial wellness strategy across key cohorts including corporates, schools, colleges, underprivileged segments among others.


4. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Thought Leadership

  • Act as a thought leader in brand, social media, and investor education, bringing fresh perspectives to the leadership team and contributing to company strategy.
  • Partner with product, sales, compliance, and customer service teams to ensure cohesive and compliant messaging.
  • Represent the progress and deliveries of the unit both internally to senior leadership as well as interacting with the regulator for legal & compliance related developments as the case may be
  • Represent DSP at industry events/ webinars/ conferences to promote brand and investor education efforts.


5. Data-Driven Decision Making and Reporting

  • Utilize analytics to track brand sentiment, social media engagement, and the effectiveness of investor education programs.
  • Report on KPIs, campaign effectiveness, and ROI, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Leverage customer insights and feedback to adapt strategies and address emerging trends or challenges.
  • Owning our budget utilization trackers and timely reporting

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


Education & Experience: 

  • Master’s degree in marketing/ communications/ business (or a related field)
  • Minimum 15 years in brand management, offline marketing, digital, social media, preferably within financial services or asset management

Skills:

  • Proven expertise in brand strategy with a deep understanding of non-digital (Print/ OOH/ TV/ Radio/ BTL) as well as digital media
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, engaging content
  • Leadership and project management experience, with a track record of managing teams and external agencies
  • Strong analytical skills- good at interpreting data to make strategic adjustments based on insights
  • Interested in consumer behavior and experienced in research
  • Follows trends, understands the influencer content creation ecosystem
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and analytics tools
