Institutional Relationship Manager

This is an institutional sales role, with the primary mandate of building DSP's presence in the Bangalore institutional. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying, approaching, and converting new institutional relationships Family Offices, large corporates, and mid-sized institutions.
Success in this role will be measured first by the quality and breadth of new institutional relationships built, and second by the revenue and AUM generated from those relationships over time. A deep, active network within Bangalore's institutional ecosystem is non-negotiable.
Primary Mandate — Business Development & Client Acquisition
- Identify, prospect, and convert new institutional clients in Bangalore with a sharp focus on Family Offices, corporate treasuries, and mid-sized institutions.
- Build a structured pipeline using market intelligence, referral networks, and proactive outreach tracking progress rigorously through CRM.
- Reactivate lapsed or dormant institutional relationships with targeted, insight-driven re-engagement.
- Represent DSP at institutional forums, industry events, and one-on-one interactions to build brand presence and generate new mandates.
Account Mining — Deepening Won Relationships
- Once relationships are established, expand wallet share by introducing clients to the full breadth of DSP's product suite across equity, fixed income, and hybrid categories.
- Engage existing clients through regular market updates, fund house views, and data-driven product discussions digital and in-person.
Domain Knowledge
- Sound understanding of capital markets equity and fixed income and mutual fund products across asset classes.
- Grasp of macroeconomic drivers and how they influence institutional investment behaviour and fund allocation decisions.
- Familiarity with the institutional and family office landscape in Bangalore including how decisions are made and who makes them.
Experience & Qualifications
Experience | 6–8 years in institutional investment sales or business development, with demonstrable experience winning and growing institutional mandates. |
Location | Bangalore (mandatory, an active, local institutional network is core to this role's success). |
Education | MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification in Finance or related field. |
Certifications | CFA, CWM, or CFP preferred. AMFI certification required. |
